Default Deal or no deal? 460+351+c-6 $450?

I found a deal for a 351 with a c-6 for $450. Only problem is it's in an 87 ford van in a field and the starter is F'd. Engine turns by hand. I want to put the C-6 behind my 390. Will that work? It had a large "65" on the top of the bell housing. Pan matches the C-6 pans I've searched Google Image Result for http://www.charlietranny.com/C6bbps.JPG
I was iffy on the deal so he threw in a 460 that's been sitting in the woods. (intake to oil pan!). I'd like to just set the motors to the side for now and build or sell them later but I need the trans. My FMX is about to go. I just bought a rebuild kit and a few new tools and was going to rebuild this weekend. So of course I come across this deal the next day. So my main concern is will an 87 C-6 on a 351 bolt to a 66 390? Need definite answers quick so I don't miss out. Thanks

so the bell housing of an FE will not match the 351? What trans would match well to the 460?

a c6 for a 429,460, and 351 modified, remember, this c6 is a one peice casting, your mx has a 2 peice bellhosing. now i might need a little help on this fact but you might be able to use the later fmx trans with your bellhousing. my opinion, get a c6, im sure there are people out there that will swear on the mx,I guess that depends on your own personal experiences.
hope this helps

I wouldn't put an MX behind a 460!

i wouldnt either, but if you find someone who can build (bullet-proof) a mx. if its not too expensive. but in my opinion, c6 is best.
