Not every build goes perfectly. Some defective parts do make it all the way from the factory to the valve train of your weekend drag car or a multi-million $ aircraft. Who built the top end? What was the extent of the build; 3 angle or port+polish?

Yeah I agree with jk run a compression test n see what cylinder has bad rings. Not that hard to do. And like everybody else said "shit does happend"
