Ford Grenada The Ford Granada name was retained, but the Monarch name was replaced by Cougar in Mercury's lineup. Styling of these cars resembled a slightly bigger and more formal version of the Fairmont, with upgraded interior trim. Base power for the Fox-body Granada was a 2.3 L I4, with an optional 200 cid straight six and 255 cubic inch V8.

Default stock components

I have a '39 ford pickup all stock components. I have an oppertunity to purchase a ford grenada and would like to know if the front suspension would work and how much trouble it would be. the shock towers on the grenada seem to be very high in the engine compartment. this is something i do not want in the pickup. is it going to be a problem lowering the shock towers?

For sure the frt suspension WON'T work , all wrong , too bulky etc . the Mustang 2 , Pinto style is what's used , and repro/aftermarket kits are available , check out most any "street-rod" websites , or Streetrodder.com, etc .. if it's a v/8 car , you can probably use the diff , and springs/brackets , engine/trans etc ...... you can also modernize the stock suspension with dropped axle, disc brake kits etc , but remember , building up a street rod is fairly costly , and time consuming .... have a dandy day ..jim p ..
