Ford LTD The LTD designation is considered by some an abbreviation of "Luxury Trim Decor" and by others as a limited body style classification for the Galaxie. There is evidence that it originally stood for "Lincoln Type Design." It was to be called the Galaxie 500 LTD, in reference to the introduction of the Chevrolet Caprice and the similar Dodge Monaco and Polara.

Unhappy Need Dash Pad For My '77 Ltd Brougham - Help!!

Yesterday started out as a great day! We licensed the '77 LTD Brougham that we bought last Fall and decided that we'd drive it as a second car for a month or so and see how it worked out. The car is so much better in so many ways than I had thought it was and it is a dream to drive. It's main shining trait is the interior which aside from needing a door pull and a couple of plastic door panel parts, is really, really nice! The dash pad was mint - yes, I said "was" mint. I picked up a friend and we went for a drive as I had to drive to Penticton ( a neighboring town ) to pick up some paint. Upon returning home, I picked my wife up and we decided to eat out and so off we went. We had barely left home when she asked me what happened to the dash pad. It appears that while doing his seat belt up, my friend must have pulled the belt forward too far and drove the male end of the seat belt into the dah pad, puncturing an otherwise flawlwss piece of vinyl. Now - did he know what he did? or maybe he didn't. Either way, I need a dash pad now - preferably a green one as in the photos below. ANY help will be appreciated. Somewhere out there, someone must have a spare dash pad thatthey want to sell..... ANY help or suggestions will be appreciated..

Default Dash Pad

There is a salvage yard in Hastings, Mn called Joe's Auto Sales. I have a 72 LTD Convertible and got a tail light from there, he deals in older Ford and Mercury only and he has tons of old Ford cars and parts there. Might be worth a try. Number is 651-437-6787.
