Ford LTD The LTD designation is considered by some an abbreviation of "Luxury Trim Decor" and by others as a limited body style classification for the Galaxie. There is evidence that it originally stood for "Lincoln Type Design." It was to be called the Galaxie 500 LTD, in reference to the introduction of the Chevrolet Caprice and the similar Dodge Monaco and Polara.

Go to the Galaxie thread Ford Galaxie - Ford Forums and do a search, we talked about them several times, tons of good info there.
I don't recomend any kits (you'll see this in my posts over there) as most people have had troubles with them, they also are a hodge podge of different parts.
