Ford Mustang The Mustang remains one of the most widely recognized, respected, and desired nameplates in the automobile business. The Ford Mustang defined the pony-car segment in 1964; Plymouth's Barracuda may have beaten Ford to the showroom by 16 days, but it was the Mustang that set the sales records. The 'Cuda is gone now leaving Ford's pony to prance alone.

Thanks!

I definatly will. Should be headed home this weekend, hopefully i'll get the engine bay scrubbed and cleaned, then paint it gloss black.

Also have custom kooks headers that just came in, and an excedy multi plate clutch. I'll post pics.

In terms of the 460, I think I Know a guy who has a swap, not exactly a street car but it's pretty awesome. I'll try to get some pics of that as well.

Would you shorten the driveline?

I'm amazed that something like that is possible. Of course I saw a Mazda Miata with a 302 in it at a bizarre car show, so I guess anything is possible.

Good luck and cool project. Only suggestion: keep it all Ford!
yes the 460 will fit in the foxes and all of them that i have seen are running the c6 trans and with good heads and a good intake and 410 rear gears they will run deep into the 10s in the 1/4 mile all day long

460 foxes are definatly cool, just not very streetable. the LS1 will weigh a TON less, and i can get more power with a good heads/cam combo. 10 sec et's are almost easy with the ls1 in a fox done right. Plus the built six speed with the exedy multi plate clutch will take the abuse, be way more fun on the street, and deliver over 20mpg.

the previous owner who converted it to a 5.0 must have just painted the engine bay black without proper prep. I could actually scrape some of the paint off with my fingernail. I started scuffing it up so we could seal and just found flaking white paint under most of the black. Pretty much a nightmare so i broke out the grinder and went to town. Everyhting i couldnt get to with the grinder i scrubbed and scuffed the hell out of. Had to pull the front end (k member and...everything) After airbrushing the dust and scrubbing the entire thing down for the...4th time? I de-greased and ended up with a PERFECT engine bay. around midnight last night we finally had it all sealed up. SOOOOO CLEAN! it's now painted gloss black and completely gutted ready for the drop.

(no pics of the black, and i didnt have a camera at the shop so those pics will have to wait until next weekend.)

Hopefully i'll work out a harness this week and if i can manage a full weekend in the shop we'll have it dropped and start wiring.

here are some horrible quality pics from this weekend.
