Ford Mustang The Mustang remains one of the most widely recognized, respected, and desired nameplates in the automobile business. The Ford Mustang defined the pony-car segment in 1964; Plymouth's Barracuda may have beaten Ford to the showroom by 16 days, but it was the Mustang that set the sales records. The 'Cuda is gone now leaving Ford's pony to prance alone.

Default Looking for a 200ci straight six from a mustang

Hey y'all, I've got a '61 Falcon and I'm looking for a 200ci Ford straight six to swap under my hood for a little more power. As far as I know, the 200s they put in Mustangs were the same they out in the Falcons, or very much the same. As Falcons are alot harder to find then Mustangs, I'm branching out to those as well to find my engine. Any thoughts or recommendations? I'm looking on craigslist for part cars and looking for mustang shops that might have some engines around. I'd like to get the whole engine in one place. Oh and I'm in Atlanta, ga. Thanks!

I am not sure on what years of mustangs...but you can find a 200 in any Fox chassis car too. From '78 -'83 and I am sure there is many before them years in the mustangs.

no they dropped the 250 and kept the 200. ask one of the fairmont guys who are taking one out of theirs and dropping 302s in. i kinda wish i kept mine on hand... VERY dependable engine. they kept the 200 until like around 83, and the 300 for obvious truck reasons...
