Ford Mustang The Mustang remains one of the most widely recognized, respected, and desired nameplates in the automobile business. The Ford Mustang defined the pony-car segment in 1964; Plymouth's Barracuda may have beaten Ford to the showroom by 16 days, but it was the Mustang that set the sales records. The 'Cuda is gone now leaving Ford's pony to prance alone.

Yes it should fit, however you will need a new Transmission. The 4cyl 5-speed is a lot weaker than the V8 5-speed so make sure if you use a 5-speed you get the correct one.

I don't get it why people always expect a old vehicle that breaks down to always be covered under some warranty?

If your exhaust tip is larger than your cylinder bore, then you are a Ricer.

yes it will fit i am putting a 1979 351m big block from a 79 f-350 in a 88 convertable. You will need to put new mounts in a lower place on the frame so the bigger motor will sit down in there right or put a decent size cowl hood so that you can close the hood on the bigger motor. You may also have to move your trans mounts and get a shorter drive shaft.

Last I heard the older Lightning was based on a fox chassis and had the rear sump pan already installed? As far as clearance goes buy drop mounts or buy a cowl hood ,I would try my best to keep the factory appearance alot more fun that way.

The Lightning was based on a F150 Frame, the Fox chassis is a Unibody with no frame, the Lightning would of tore it apart.
