Default Why do I get this sound?

94 Mustang GT Convertible AOD.

When I REALLY stand on the gas, I get a strange sound from underneath. It's hard to describe, but the mental image I get when I hear it is like metal shavings bouncing around in a container.

Almost like a grinding, but it's not a consistent sound, like a pattern.

I don't know if that will get any of you Mustang brains going or not, but I have to ask.

It happens whether I'm at speed and floor it or if I'm stopped and floor it. The grinding noise just sounds bad and I always back off.

Any ideas?

Thanks, as always.

That may prove to be pretty tough. I'll see what I can do.
