Default 91 Ford Ranger:

I am having eratic idling. I am suspecting the egr valve. 4.0 with a 150,000 miles also fuel mileage down. Can someone tell me where is the egr valve on this engine? Thank you, Don B.

Isn't it on the side of the intake manifold, up by the throttle body?

The EGR is on the Driver side back by the fire wall on the exhaust manifold.

My suggestion - Change your Oil to a Pure Synthetic like Moble High Mileage and us Z-Max engine and gas treatment.

My 1995 4.0 V6 has 250,000 miles and still runs great.
Most people think I have a V8 in it, but it is the stock V6
No chip or power adders - just cut the Air box open to give it more are.

Depending on where you live the Synthetic may give you better starts in the Winter.
Quicker oil pressure etc.

Hope that helps.
I gave up on my truck and bought a 1965 Ford Falcon.
When it is finished it will be worth something.
The Ranger will still be a Ranger and not worth much.

I still Love Fords though.
