I have a 1994 F-150 5.8L 351W reg cab. So far ive only done small tuneing, and aftermarket stuff. Ive got a K&N air filter, E-3 performance sparkplugs, Performance sparkplug wires, new distributer, Steel core/high flow Cat, "Afterburner" High flow exaust and thats it. I want as much hp, and performance as a F-150 lightning of same year, or newer! Ide like to just have something to take to the track if i wanted to and be competative, thats not a diesel!

Reason: forgot a few things
You could stroke it out to 393 cubic inches or bigger yet. Or put some aluminum heads on it. Maybe even a blower and nitrous.
Personally I'd invest in a new roller camshaft, a new intake manifold, World cast iron heads and a set of full length headers with true dual exhaust and an H pipe.
Get ready for the 351 boss build this summer, 4v closed chamber heads, 2.25/1.75 valves, .750 lift, 12.5:1 piistons, wieand tunnel ram, nitrous, I think its gonna roar!
About $1000 for every 100 horsepower. Very general, and for the first 200 horse doesn't always play true. Yes you can build a 350 horse 302 for $1500 but its not an easy feat.

Yeah, that's really a uniform request. And I think you're into your super turbo project. You need to know what's the most important and prioritize part. That can cost you lots of money.

Well... Right now i don't have lots of money. I just got out of the Marine Corps (5 years), and i'm still trying to find a good job that works around me going to school at Universal Technical Institute in Norwood, MA from 6:30am-12:45pm. It's tough. Im just curious as to what i can do. Does anyone know of a good place to work near Millis or Norwood, MA.? Im fairly skilled in basic automotive/diesel, and Fords. Im going to school for Automotive performance, Diesel Industrial, and i'm also taking the Ford FACT program so i can get fully certified by may 2010!
'94 & newer 351W blocks are set up to use roller cams, serial number F4TE by the starter (the lifter valley is tapped for the roller lifter spider assembly & the lifter galleys are setup for roller lifters) but none of them came with roller cams. Pre '94 blocks aren't setup for roller cams with a few exceptions of late '93 blocks. The stock 351 heads are lame, same heads as used on the standard 5.0/302 which are barely adequate for those smaller motors.
Factory GT-40 or GT-40P heads are a step in the right direction and can be had cheap but the bolt holes are only 7/16", you've got 1/2" bolts on the 351 so by the time you get it worked out you're not saving much money over aftermarket heads.
Get some aftermarket heads like mentioned previously before you get a cam, then spend the money for a custom grind roller cam & lifters based on your vehicle, weight, trans, rr gears, etc. (you can use a standard roller cam not the retrofit style cam and standard ford roller lifters in that block). With fuel injection and a custom tune you should get close to 400 fwhp, carb & a good intake 400 is realistic at the motor.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. I just got an edelbrock catalog today. Is that a good way to go for the money, or does anyone have any other suggestions?
