TS85, The GT40 intake is an upgrade from the stock HO intake but still may not address the problem.
What is your answer to jonmark85's question? Was the timing chain/ gear set replaced on your engine?

There may be a reasonable answer to your problem that bolting on parts will not solve so be patient, read the posts and repond to the questions....

there needs to be more information here like rear end ratio, what the truck was like before the motor swap, really anything you can tell us is all the better to help us form an opinion. when u put a 302 in a truck u have to consider that it takes way more power to turn those tires, or maybe it has a limited slip rear end, the sheer weight difference of a truck over a fox body mustang is enough to cause grief. personally i have never known a 302 to be a torque motor. they are more likely to make power up in the revs.

Try to see if the spout connector is conected...its located on the driver side by the firewall...i believe it has two yellow wires going to it and the connector is white...if the connector is unpluged the timing does not advance....i believe the timing is 10...another mod u can do to that 5.0 ho is install injectors out of a 96-97 explorer with a 5.0 they have beter atomisation than the the mustangs.....beter fuel millege.

i got mixed up with the year and the systems....
if u have the original carb u probably need to replace the valve on the bottom of the carb..it has 4 bolts and when that goes out it loses power and the fuel economy goes down.

It won't

if your engine isn't running right, bolting on performance parts won't work, you still need spark, fuel, and compression for the engine to run right.

you might have to swap out the cam with one for a truck 351W, to bring your torque back up to par. you'll still have the bitchin' power, but it's the torque that moves you (or atleast just the tires...) that's why mopars use to roach the tires easily, my 440 was a torque monster!!!
