temporary engine failure f-250 2001 7.3

At hiway speeds my engine will die for a second or two and then come back to life on its own. Any ideas? Also I noticed a symptom for a low battery. During glow plug cycle if the radio or other electrical devices get power interupted it could be sign of bad batteries. I changed mine and the problem is gone.

I changed my cps problem seems to be gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

=annour] i have the same thing with my ford maverick diesel 2.7. would you tell me what this "cps" is that you mention since you say that changing it seemed to solve the problem. thanks for your advice

The "cps" is your "cam position sensor." I don't know where it is located on your vehicle, but it is a big problem on the 7.3. The common recommendation is to carry a spare. Good luck. Let us know if that solves the problem.
