Ford Pick-Up Ford Pickup Trucks - 1948 thru 1979 1948 was the year that Ford introduced the "F" prefix for use in designating the load capacity of its lighter duty trucks. The 1/2 ton was called an F-1, the 3/4 ton truck was referred to as an F-2 and the F-3 designation meant a one ton carrying capacity Pickup. The "F" series continued through F-8 for heavy duty trucks.

Default Tranny swap
Hey folks,
I just swapped my 351 and auto tranny from my beat old 89 F-250 into a good 90 body. The 90 was set up for an over drive transmission,which mine is not. The tranny will not shift out of 1st now. I'm not used to dealing with computer controlled engines and i don't know if I need to switch wiring harnesses and computers or what. Anybody have an idea?
