Ford Pick-Up Ford Pickup Trucks - 1948 thru 1979 1948 was the year that Ford introduced the "F" prefix for use in designating the load capacity of its lighter duty trucks. The 1/2 ton was called an F-1, the 3/4 ton truck was referred to as an F-2 and the F-3 designation meant a one ton carrying capacity Pickup. The "F" series continued through F-8 for heavy duty trucks.

Default Performance Upgrades for a 2002 Lightning??

I'm currently installing a Lightning motor and auto trans into a hot rod and would like to know what and where I can find ways to pull the most out of this engine. I've heard the boost can be upped by using a different pulley but I want to get the HP as big as possible without going too far into the motor. Which manual trans could I use, should I go that route?

Also what can be deleted off of these motors? I'm smog free since it is going into a 54 and have free reign. Thanks- Stan

Default Upgrades

There are several F150 boards out there that have more mods than you can imagine. A buddy put an L motor in a 4wd Supercrew, and if I ever have the chance I am putting one in my 2wd Supercrew. Good luck!
