Ford Pick-Up Ford Pickup Trucks - 1948 thru 1979 1948 was the year that Ford introduced the "F" prefix for use in designating the load capacity of its lighter duty trucks. The 1/2 ton was called an F-1, the 3/4 ton truck was referred to as an F-2 and the F-3 designation meant a one ton carrying capacity Pickup. The "F" series continued through F-8 for heavy duty trucks.

Default 88 f350 7.5 alt. draining bat.

I have an old F350 With the 7.5 460 v8. The battery kept getting drained and I haven't done anything new. Kinda confused....I can disconnect the Alt. and the drainage stops. The engine idles ruff with the alt connected, and is ok when disconnected. I was thinking about getting the repair kit but if there is a winding that is messed up then the kit won't work and I will have to get a new alternator. Any help will be welcome.
