Hi,
New member here...
I am in the process of refurbishing my wife's grandpa's old stakebed. He was the only owner and it has been in the family ever since he passed away collecting everything that would cling to it. We had it shipped from Utah to Calif. and it has been a work in progress...loooong progress!
I took it down to the frame and am just now getting to painting the body. Engine and transmission, were rebuilt. Brake lines replaced and drive-line replaced. Old stickers and I.D's were put on. Currently sitting at the body shop waiting for the paint.
So we, (my wife and I) are keeping it stock and want it to look as if it came off the facotory floor.
But finding pictures of a vehicle in color to ensure that the paint work is applied correctly to the correct areas, is proving to be a tough task. For example; were the rims painted black or did they match the body color? Where the tires white walls or all black? Should the paint job be clear sealed?
I have been in contact with the Ford archives and they have been
tremendously helpful and
polite. But they can not come up with a color picture of the vehicle.
Any one out there have any suggestions and or ideas?
Mike Borg
