Ford Probe The Probe appeared in 1988 and lasted until 1997 in the United States. It was based on a series of futuristic concept cars of the early 1980s, the likes of which have been seen in films like Judge Dredd, Back to the Future Part II and Total Recall. It was a coupe based on the Mazda GD platform, and was powered by a 2.2 L SOHC I4 cylinder Mazda F2 engine.

Default 93 Probe Fuel System Trouble shooting

My fuel pump does not operate when the key is turned on. The Fuel Cutout light is on (in the instrument panel). Here is what I have checked and know. The inerita switch is functioning based on a continuity check and is set properly. The fuel pump functions when I activate it by jumping the datalink terminals. Fuses under the hood are all OK. The circuit relay NF02 functions properly (when jumped at the datalink terminal and by continuity test. The IGM Main circuit relay FS11 functions properly by manual activation and continuity test. Can anyone tell me what turns the "Fuel cutout" light on and off? Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Could it be the PCM? How can I check for a PCM problem?

I bought a 93 probe about 2 days ago, i had turned on my car before and the fuel cut off light was on, i shut my car and restarted it same thing, i went to the trunk and lifted the lining of my trunk and then turned on my car and it was fine. But my question is waht exactly is the fuel cutoff light about, what does it mean, what does it do? and will i be ok to drive with it on?

This Website Is Awesome. A Few Days Ago, I Hit A Hole In The Road And My Tire Became Flat And My Engine, Automatically Shut-off. I Got My Tire Fixed, But Could Not Get It Started, And Came To This Website And Learned About The Fuel Cut Off Switch In The Trunk. Thank You So Much.

Thumbs down Cut out light on Help Please!

I am a mechanic and body man have 93 probe gt 5 spd, front end collision, after collision car ran fine, inertia switch didnt trip during collision. While repairing car i used my trusty maple tree frame machine and gave it a few violent tugs. After that the car drove into my garage,(unfortunatly with 1 plug wire disconected) didnt start back up hours later. Thats when i noticed cut-out light on. Checked inertia switch, it did not need to be pushed down I think it was already pushed in. How do i check it, and where is the fuel pump relay located. Could anything else make the light go on and not start.
