Ford Probe The Probe appeared in 1988 and lasted until 1997 in the United States. It was based on a series of futuristic concept cars of the early 1980s, the likes of which have been seen in films like Judge Dredd, Back to the Future Part II and Total Recall. It was a coupe based on the Mazda GD platform, and was powered by a 2.2 L SOHC I4 cylinder Mazda F2 engine.

Default Getting rid of my 4 speed automatic
I've got a 93 probe GT and I really want to get rid of my transmission. Not sell it, but swap it out for a manual. The car is already fun to drive, but I think it'd be a little better if I had a manual in it. I just need to know how much it'll cost and if it would be better to have someone do it instead of me doing it myself. My brother's a mechanic and he owned the car before me so he would help me/do most of the work on it.

Another thing is would it be better to take a tranny off an old ford probe or get a whole new transmission?
