Ford Probe The Probe appeared in 1988 and lasted until 1997 in the United States. It was based on a series of futuristic concept cars of the early 1980s, the likes of which have been seen in films like Judge Dredd, Back to the Future Part II and Total Recall. It was a coupe based on the Mazda GD platform, and was powered by a 2.2 L SOHC I4 cylinder Mazda F2 engine.

Default '95 Probe Fuel shutoff reset, still wont start.

This is my 1st post, on day 1. so, i guess i'll see how it goes. Thanks to anyone who may offer advice.
So,.. about a week ago I had a (rear) tire blowout. it set off my fuel shutoff switch, which i later reset. However, my 95 probe (2.0L. 4Cl. non-turbo) still won't start. I bought it used about 2 yrs ago, with no book. it has about 150,000 miles on it with about 1/2 of the engine replaced. A friend suggested that I check the wires to the F.S. switch, and when i did, i discovered 3 corroded wires going to the plug in the switch.
Well,.. upon pulling on the wires they all came crumbling out!.. I tried crossing the 3 wires in all possible ways, but alas, no start. And now i can't remember how they went in.
Could someone with a 2nd Gen (94? - 97) probe please look at their manual, or the actual switch and tell me the order the wires enter the plug, so that i may reconnect it?
And any ideas on getting it to start again would be appreciated.
Thx. for any replies in advance.

Thanks, I went and got another Fuel shutoff switch at a junkyard with about 6 inches of wires still intact ( i just cut it out) and spliced it in place. It fired right up. (Ford reliability But I may still get the Mazda book just to work on a few of the other ... issues with that car. Meanwhile, I must find a mitsubishi Eclipse forum for some other problems. Thanks again guys.
