Ford ProbeThe Probe appeared in 1988 and lasted until 1997 in the United States. It was based on a series of futuristic concept cars of the early 1980s, the likes of which have been seen in films like Judge Dredd, Back to the Future Part II and Total Recall. It was a coupe based on the Mazda GD platform, and was powered by a 2.2 L SOHC I4 cylinder Mazda F2 engine.
I have a 1994 ford probe it has sat 4 about 4 months. Its a 2.0 dohc. It was running when it was parked. the car now will not start, the fuel pump has got 65 pounds of fuel pressure and the distributor is firing, the car will run off of starting fluid but will not continue. the fuel injectors are not spraying. and they has been cleaned! i have checked all the fuses and the relays and none of them are bad. This has been puzzling me for about 2 weeks. somebody plz help!
my 95 2.0 dohc is firing up after trying for about 3 min. and it runs like crap with idling going from 1000 - 4000 up and down for about 3 min and than it evens out but it runs with no power and the fuel preasure is good. but it is not getting enough fuel to the cylinders... could this be something of the same problem.

the fuel injectors will not open unless the engine is running...pull the diagnostic codes...look for the female diagnostic plug maybe by the strut mount..its a triangular shaped connector with like 6 wires attached, no male connector..right next to that diag. connector should be a single wire with a female connector at the end...connect a jumper wire from that single wire to any good ground then turn the ignition key to the run position (dont start the engine)...look at the check engine lite right below the speedometer ...should be flashing out a code(s)...watch the flash sequence twice then write down the codes...an example is: 2 quick flashes followed by a couple seconds pause followed by 3 more quick flashes would be code 23...other codes may follow ..if not it will repeat..once you know the codes go to batauto.com and check out the trouble codes
