Ford Probe The Probe appeared in 1988 and lasted until 1997 in the United States. It was based on a series of futuristic concept cars of the early 1980s, the likes of which have been seen in films like Judge Dredd, Back to the Future Part II and Total Recall. It was a coupe based on the Mazda GD platform, and was powered by a 2.2 L SOHC I4 cylinder Mazda F2 engine.

Default 1994 Ford Probe Hottt

Son ran 1994 Probe GT V-6 hot. Replaced water pump, radiator, thermostat, and anything else that seemed to be leaking. At idle it stays cool forever but if I drive it 200 yards the temp pegs out and the engine is hot. Mechanic did compression check ok. No water in oil that I can tell. No water or vapor coming out of tail pipe. Does anyone have any suggestions. Do I have a warped head or maybe a small interior headgasket leak. Why does it not get hot until I drive it??? Thanks for the help.

could be a bad ground running from the body to the battery..if you have a bad ground the coolant gauge will give false readings of temperature..verify the temperature with a laser temp probe...if it is really hot (above 225 degrees F) make sure that the fan is running when the gauge shows hot..if it is hot and the fan is running replace the thermostat again or test it in a pot of hot water...should be fully open at 220
