Ford Probe The Probe appeared in 1988 and lasted until 1997 in the United States. It was based on a series of futuristic concept cars of the early 1980s, the likes of which have been seen in films like Judge Dredd, Back to the Future Part II and Total Recall. It was a coupe based on the Mazda GD platform, and was powered by a 2.2 L SOHC I4 cylinder Mazda F2 engine.

Default Please Help Battery Low???

Hey all.

I have a ford probe 95 model and i recently changed my alternator and battery. This is because my alternator was overcharging my battery. but now, after 4 months, i think the same thing is happening again.

The check engine light keeps popping up (its been popping up for like 2months now). And my battery gauge on the dash says its on low. Is there something wrong with the car?? or did i get a faulty alternator?

BTW, I have a sound system in the car and i generally pump it on medium - high. Would this stuff up my alternator ??

Thanks in advance.

the sound system that you have may be the problem. depending on the amperage draw of the system, it may be overloading the alternator and the battery. you will probably have to go with a high amperage alternator like a 130-150 amp. that should help with the charging issue.
