89 2.2l probe. i need help with somefuel issues please

bought this car for $500 and its a typical car for that price and it needs help. but i replaced the fuel pump and im having a problem with the idle now. i have to keep the gas pedal pressed a little as well as the break when im stopped, even in park or nuetral.

Reynolds,
The first thing to check for is vacuum leaks. DO you know how?

The next thing to check would be the IAC Idle Air Control valve/solinoid

You'll aslo want to check your air filter.

Do this first, and let us know how you make out, after that we'll have you pull diagnostic codes.

You know... I didin't think to ask if you replaced the fuel filter, or if you checked to make sure you had the proper fuel pressure at the rail after you replaced the pump. I assummed that you did, but I have learned that I should never assume anything.
