Ford Probe The Probe appeared in 1988 and lasted until 1997 in the United States. It was based on a series of futuristic concept cars of the early 1980s, the likes of which have been seen in films like Judge Dredd, Back to the Future Part II and Total Recall. It was a coupe based on the Mazda GD platform, and was powered by a 2.2 L SOHC I4 cylinder Mazda F2 engine.

I do believe that would be your distributor.... get a new one...
and a word of advice, when you go to buy the part they might say they have one without the ignition module "WRONG" most places are retarded just take your distributor with you and make sure they're exactly the same. (what im trying to say is they'll try to sell you the one that says it has the ignition module, BUT ask to see the one without it and it'll usually have one on it)this shld save you anywhere in the neigbhorhood of 50-200$

another thing u should consider is the alarm system, a factory alarm systrem will shut car off and kill it from starting try unlocking ur door with key and see if she will start. if not then it sound like maybe the disty. but could have easily been bad wiring with alarm. lemme know what happens i have a 93 gt that wont start :P mine just cutt out on me while drivig. has 190k miles and checked all sensors and disty. icm is only thing i cant ckeck if that doesnt work im going twards egr valve that i am avoiding...
