Ford Probe The Probe appeared in 1988 and lasted until 1997 in the United States. It was based on a series of futuristic concept cars of the early 1980s, the likes of which have been seen in films like Judge Dredd, Back to the Future Part II and Total Recall. It was a coupe based on the Mazda GD platform, and was powered by a 2.2 L SOHC I4 cylinder Mazda F2 engine.

Default Probe Vs. Mustang
Back before they decided to get rid of the Probe, Ford had a vote to which car everyone liked more and wanted more. Obviously the Mustang won but which would you rather have back in 97? 90's style mustang or 90's style Probe? (input welcome)

umm umm i think mustang just because its a v8 and its a rear wheel drive u can have more fun with that but i am in love wit mustangs so thats just my opinion

well, rwd is all the stang has got for me. as far as probes. Mine can smoke any (stock) mustang gt up until 98. So V8 that!

The size of the engine doesnt mean much i mean look at the DSM cars 4 bangers putting out a thosand horse so yea there goes the whole V8 lol....

Yeah, exactly... Then the car with the 4-banger wld win since its got less weight to it.

V-8 sound I wld much rather prefer though. I like to compare the 4-banger is like a bumble bee and a v-8 is like a roaring lion!
BUT since you can make the probes v-6 sound like a ferrari... I'd say 6 cylinder over all!

Mustang hands down...

The classic...

You can't beat the sound of a Mustang with a V-8. PERIOD.

And the Pony on the grill...
....


Although I do have to admit, probes are fun to destroy... speedbumps at 70mph, going 100mph with spare tires all the way around, and fitting 6 people in it in doing neutral drops.

Unless you have forgot Mustangs once had 4 cylinders. :-)
hmmm... Give me the same specs on a mustang and watch the mustang get destroyed!
Lol, it's funny how Mustang owners think they're all cool when a 10+ year old car would easily keep up with them but on corners. Hands down the Probes wld win.
