Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Question 3.0 troubble

Thanks for reading.

I have a 1996 Ranger 4 spd auto with a 3.0 v6 and 101117 miles. Its the orignal motor and trans. I think a cylender could be dieing because the previous owner provided all the mantenance records and the oil and tranny fulids were changed regurally but its also pulled cars for 92,000 miles (the mileage i bought it with). I think the motor and trans are almost done anywas, i repleaced the plugs/wires in june of last year it helped for a week or 2 sometimes it will hesatate real bad and other times it wont at all and i was wondering waht i should try because i dont have alot of money to dunp into this thing

thanks

Drive it to your local Autoparts store, most will do a free computer scan, call them first.

Please post your results.

Well that was a cheap and easy repair.

I hope this post can help someone else out with similar issues.

Good luck and I hope it stays problem free for a long time for you.
