Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Default 2000 Ranger actuator gears broken

Great post, I found however that I did not have a motor problem but I'm assuming the actuator arm, the one with the gears on it. the gears are worn on both ends so it will go all the way down and the motor spins and not quite all the way up..same problem. How do I remove the actuator? I have the motor out thanks for the extra hole tip!!!! Now what? Help!!! I heard the arm slides forward but mine won't budge. Do I have to drill out the rivets to replace this piece?

Thank you...

The window motor on my 2002 Ranger just "gave up the ghost". I knew it was coming so I hope I'm prepared. Ordered the new motor and hope to install this weekend. Is the job easier if the window stopped in the up position?

It would be easier, if the window was in the up position. Once the actuator is removed,
window will slide up to the top and can fall also. You can hold it up or tape it up, to get
it out of the way. Watch it, it can hurt you. Go back and reread the posts of us that
has changed them out. Get some help if you need it. I got my neighbor to help me.

I have an '01 Ranger. The power window motor does not shut off when the window is fully up. Do I have to replace the motor, or is there a switch (location unknown) that could be faulty?
