Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Default How to remove the 4X4 dash switch panel

Hi,

First post so please be kind

I've got a 93 Ranger 4x4 4.0 liter 5 spd. I love the truck and bought it with 217000 miles. It runs great.

My first question....

The dashboard lights for the 4x4 switch is out and needs replacement. Is there a trick to getting that small panel out easily to swap out the light(s)?

Thanks

Looks like a newer model, not a 93

I am not sure how it is on the dash, but I am guessing it is held on by some pressure clips. Where is it on the dash? Would it be possible to provide a picture?

Edit: That above picture looks right now.

Autozone's website says that newer looking dash is from 93-97, but I don't trust em.

I think it would be from a 89-94, but I'm not sure. All I can say for sure is they went to the first dash you posted in 95. So the 93-97 is wrong.

That picture makes it look like you are going to need to remove the dash to pull it. I don't actually know though, sorry I can't help more.
