Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Cool

i had a 1996 extra cab ranger my floor would be all wet on the passenger side i tore apart the whole inside of the truck and found out that the water was leaking in from the seal on the back window. i took it to a local window shop they pulled out the window and caulked it for $40 and i never had a problem after that. to find the problem i had to take out the seats all the plastic and the carpet. hope this helps. brent

Thanks Brent. I pulled all the carpet out last night, and going to take it today to a window shop and see if they can find it.

Yes Putts, tried that. But last night I pulled all the carpet out, and I'm taking it to a shop today to see if they can find it. Maybe I will have better luck finding it with the carpet out. Wherever the leak is coming from, the back is wet also.

if the back is wet also i can almost definatly say that that is what is wrong. when it happened to my truck i thought that my buddy spilt somthing but when i got home it was still wet. that sounds like what it is going to be thought. good luck.

Ok all, finally found the leak. Water was coming in round the sliding window. Seems when you lock it, it was coming in around the bottom corner. One place told me I needed to buy the whole window , which was over $200. Got a repairman, who replaced the seal, total charge $50, problem solved.

Seems, the back window was just 1 of a few leaks. Front floorboard still getting wet in the front drivers side. Found a leak coming in from around the seal on the bottom drivers side door, also seeing water coming in from somewhere under the dash. Going at it again tomorrow. Leak from the back window is minor.

but it wouldnt make any sense if it was a heater core... the heater core is on the passenger side... so it might be something else.
