Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Question 2004 Ranger Trouble Starting

I have a 1994 manual 5-speed 3.0L Ranger Extended Cab. It will sit for a few days in an airport parking lot, and if the weather has been wet and humid, it will be very hard to get started. It will crank very strong, but just won't turn over. Once I get it started and let it warm up for a while, it runs just fine.
This only happens when it is moist outside. When the weather is dry with either warm or cold temperatures, it starts right up. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Probably a crack in the distributor cap, letting moisture in.

Thanks Mike. I have one on order along with plugs and plug wires.

Should I also replace the rotor as well? If so, Is it difficult? A DIY or should a shop do it?

o4 Ranger has a coil pack,no cap and rotor.You might still have a moisture problem but I would lean toward a fuel bleed down problem.Try cycling the key a couple times before cranking the engine.
