| I'm Thinking About Buying a 2008 Ranger Well I may have landed a good job at Sony DADC over in Terre Haute, Indiana. I was thinking it may be a good time to invest in a quality vehicle and I'm thinking about a little Ranger for the gas mileage and utility. I was wondering what the general attitude towards these newer rangers was.
Some notes, I'm a taller guy at 6'4" and I need some head room. My personal preference for the truck is a 4 cylinder/ 5 speed stick. It seems very often that the V6's and automatics turn out to be lemons. I don't need a hot-rod, I got race cars for that, I want something reliable and that can do a little work.

| You are right, some of the newer ones have been lemons. Just out of curiosity, why not just go for a slightly older one, say an 04-06, so you know it isn't a lemon, plus it would be a lot cheaper. Is there some specific reason you want a new one?

| I don't trust other people, or dealers. I want to get a car that I know the history of
Well that and.. my mom just went to look at a used toyota, and she wound up buying a brand new one, it was the same price as an 06' with 15,000 miles. Plus this job should pay about $38,000 per year, so I should have the cash to pay it off within a year or two.

| Yeah I think the gas crunch has a part in that.

| Well I got a call from Sony. The wages they are offering are very good, and the sign on will cover my deposit and first month rent at an apartment, so in a couple months I think I'm gonna make the plunge and get a new Ford. I'm beginning to consider just buying a nice MN12 Thunderbird though, something for 3000-5000 that I could work on!

I'm thinking something like this, but the 3.8 would go in the scrap pile pretty quick!
