Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Hello there,
I've got a 92 ranger that has just been sitting around. It's a regular cab, short box with a 3L, 5 Spd. I don't drive it and it's just been rotting away. I'm hoping to (when I find the time) take that little truck and swap out the motor for something a little more peppy. I was thinking about a 2.3 turbo or possibly a 3.8 thunderbird supercoupe motor. (If possible). Does anyone have a idea on this? Could you swap in a 3.8? or no? How about something else. Wanna go fast.

You can swap in anything you want if you have the time and knowhow. I helped a friend swap a 289/c4 setup into his 88 Ranger excab and it was insane. That 3.8SC swap sounds interesting, doing the wiring might take some time. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, post pics!
