Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Default 94 2.3 won't start

need some help trouble shooting a problem. i have a 94 2.3 twin single cab ranger with 168,000 miles. The truck is turning over but wont go. i think it is a gas problem. It has spark. I just changed both coils, spark plugs and the ignition control module not to long ago. battery is good. I changed the fuel pump and fuel filter recently. it has gas in the tank. I changed the fuel pump fuse and relay. Checked the inertia switch to make shure it is on. i got a volt light tester for 6 and 12 volt. tested the fuse and relay, both were good. with key on the on position, tested the inertia wires and no light, also checked the fuel pumps red wire and no light. when i turn the key the fuel pump does not go. Any ideas?

Hey Kakeru11, have you checked to make sure your timing belt is still in good shape. Pull the cover of the timeing belt and see. A lot fo times it is the belt that breaks and you just dont realize it....

Good luck!

thanks for the replies putt225 and johnmark1985. I have not checked the timming belt, but it will start and run. then it will go back to not starting. then it will go back to runnning. sometimes when it does not start, it will sit for a while then start. Where would i use the starting fluid at? the air intake? thansk again for the replies.

Bad fuel pump relay...

Check the fuse/relay box under the hood. The cover should tell you which one is the fuel pump relay.

today i changed the fuel pump relay and the e.e.c relay. i was reading up on if the e.e.c fuse and/or relay is blown/bad it will not engage the fuel pump. after changing them the truck started right up. awsome, but i have had this happen before. truck will turn over but not start and i will change, fix, repair clean some part and the truck will run good for a while then back to her games. love her but can be not so nice sometimes.
