| | Guest | Check Engine Light I just purchased a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT last Friday. It is now Monday, and this morning from interviewing at a job the freaking thing came on, I wonder if it could have been that I was driving on the highway with O/D on, when I got off at the exit, I turned it off, then that is when it came on. Is this something major or what cause I'm no ASME mechanic heh?
Can you give me advice?
Signed,

| | Guest | I do not believe so on our vehicles we always drive with the O/D on, that means my 03 Ranger also. My mom had an '00 Ranger that I drove all the time and again we kept the O/D on, and she never had any troubles with it. | |

| | Guest | CHECK YOUR OXYGEN SENSOR MAN. MY 95 RNANGER I HAD TO REPLACE THAT ON MINE . THE O/D WONT HURT IT. U WILL HAVE TO PUT IT ON A ANALYZER. IT WILL TELL U IF ITS BAD. U CAN BUY A UNIVERSAL OXYGEN SENSOR, BUT I WOULDNT. ITS ONLY ABOUT 15 BUCKS BUT THEY ARE SHITTY AS HECK, I WOULD SVE UP 50 AND BUY THE FORD VERSION. ITS WAY BETTER AND A WARRANTY. LET ME KNOW WHAT HAPPENS,
