| | Guest | Exterior Light Trouble Hi, I am new here. ;-)
I have a 2001 Ranger Edge Extended Cab (just rolled over 60k miles and automatic transmission) and have a couple of questions I hope somenone here can help me with.
1. My turn signals aren't functioning properly; the front signals blink intermittently - sometimes fast or slow. The rear signals do not work, they both simply blink simultaneously. The brake lights do not work, nor do the back up lights. The hazard lights DO work.
I have so far done the following:
A.) Replaced all exterior bulbs EXCEPT the actual headlight bulbs which are still fairly new. I have replaced both the front and rear turn signals, tail lights and the front side marker lights. All the bulbs appear to work, just not in conjunction with their proper functions.
B.) Have checked all fuses in the cab and under the hood and all got a green light.
Any further suggestions save going to the shop?
2.) My truck shifts very rough in general, sometimes seeming to "stick" when shifting from second to third. The RPMs rev high when this happens and the whole thing shudders when it finally kicks in. Sometimes the "O/D" light starts blinking on the instrument cluster and when this happens it shifts hard in every gear. It seems to reset when I shut it down and crank it up again.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks,

| ranger lighting question i have seen this before.it could be the multifunction switch(turn signal switch)the connector on the back of the switch(the bigger one)or both.the connector proble is the retainers for the wires are plastic and break and the wire backs out.take the plastic panels off the steering column and inspect the wires by trying to pull them out.if all are tight then i would start checking the switch. |
