Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Default No Spark

I have a 89 Ranger 2.3 dual coil, cannot get any spark, Hav changed plugs, plug wires, coils, ignition module, crank positioning sensor, EEC relay, cleaned up all the grounds, stamped my feet, still nothing. There is 11.5 volts at the primary coil with the key in run position, code reader comes up 11 on first sweep then 15, no other diagnostic eqip. available. What have I missed?
Please Help

well... the other thing you need to know is if it's pulsing the injectors... borrow a "noid light" from AutoZone and plug it into the #1 injector... it should flash when it's cranking...

if it has 12v at the injector, whatever method that model year uses to discern rpm and #1 pulses (TFi module and reluctor or CSS) is junk. could have a bad computer, but you need to know if the reference pulse is there (DVOM that does frequency or some way to look at serial data)...
