Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Default Where is the PCV valve on a 2004 Ranger 2.3

Trust me, I did research this before posting a new thread! The Haynes manual says it is on the drivers side of the block, but after taking off the splashguard, and not finding anything, I phoned the dealer, who told me it was on the valve cover. I am assuming it is the valve directly behind the oil filler cap, but it seems to be clipped on and i do not want to take it off if this is not it. The valve does have a piece of hose that goes to the air intake hose between the throttle body and the air cleaner box. Any suggestions on if this is indeed it, how to un-snap the thing?
While I was at it are these valve covers plastic or aluminium? I couldn't tell.

It is on the driver side lower part of the block. You must remove the inner fender, take the coolant line out of the bracket and just behind it is another hose. That hose is the PCV hose. The valve sets in a oil separator that bolts to the side of the block. Just pry it up out of the oil separator.
