Ford RangerMore than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.
I have 1999 ranger and the only problem i have is that the door ajar bell always sounds as soon as i open the the driver side door. If i leave the door open it makes noise and it drives me crazy. Is that normal. The passenger side door does not make any noise at all. I want to repair it. Can anyone give me some suggestion. It is appreciated, Thank you.
My buddy ripped the bell right off the pc board!! I wouldn't go that extreme. If it really
bugs you then a bit of epoxy filled into the hole on it will quiet it down ALOT!

If you have intermittant running problems or a flat spot/buck/dying/cutting out while accelerating.
Do your self a favor and try some dedicated gas
line dryer, Double or even triple dose it, It's cheaper
then throwing parts at a problem that doesn't throw
codes!!
I will assume (and you all know what that means) that you have removed the key from the ignition when this happens. It means that the contact in the key tumbler assembly is sticking, or at least shorting to ground. I would try using a penetrate on it, so the contact moves freely. Just use a small amount, as you don't want it dripping out forever. Spray it into the key slot at the ignition. If you can get the steering column cover off, then you might want to follow that up with some choke cleaner to remover the grime that has built up in it.

Before, I play with the ignition switch i am going to take out the door panel and spray some WD-40 on the door lock switch. I heard from another forum that WD -40 does the trick most of the time. It states to spray on door lock to see if it can lose the connection. If that don't work then the switch is defected. So, i will try this on the weekend and see what happens. Once again thank alot.
The door lock switch has alot to do with it because as soon as i disconnected the chime stops ringing. So, I think i will leave it disconnected until i get another switch. Thanks to everyone whom gave me a response to find a solution to my problem.
