Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Default Brake light issue 2004 Ranger

Greetings!

Hope that I can gather a few pearls of wisdom here for my problem with my 2004 Ranger 3.0

My right rear brake light and blinker do not work. When the blinker swith is put in the 'turn right' position I get the increased blinker noise that would inform you that the bulb is out. The light indeed does not work for braking or for turning. However, the bulb and fuses are good. When I set the car alarm the light works. I've pulled every fuse, all good. The left turn signal and brake light works as well.

I have a feeling the problem may be the turn signal control itself because in the past I had a weird bug with the wipers not shutting off. By shear power of laziness that issue went away This is just a hunch though.

Thanks for any help y'all can offer. Have to do something about this soon or else the cops will bust me for improper equippment...and who needs that!

D

Sounds like a a possible ground issue or dirty contacts on the bulb.
