Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Default Over Heating

My 93 Ranger get's really hot when I run my AC to the point u can hear it gurrgling in the overflow. Now I have already replaced my thermostat what I am thinking is that my fan clutch is shot. After running it warm not over heating it and shutting it off the fan move's pretty easy no resistance I think it's not suppose to do this? The fan should have some resistance I think? If I don't run my AC it runs along at normal temp no problems. Any ideas would be great to hear.

Thanks Burrdog

If it was the fan it'd run hot all of the time not just when the ac is running (usually). You could have radiator problems (partial blockage or bent fins) and the heat from the ac is just too much for the compromised radiator to handle. Or you could simply have a bad radiator cap. I recommend if you do need to replace the fan, replace it with an electric fan.
