Ford RangerMore than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.
My front suspension squeeks when I go over speed bumps... the tire/brake shop greased some bushings which made it stop for 4 months, but now it's doing it again.
I really don't want to replace the bushings since they aren't bad. Is there a more permenant fix???
Just spray them down with silicone lube every oil change Check your shock bushings they can squeak and noone ever thinks about them. I had one on the left side of my bronco that was ovaled out and would make a popping noise but only off road going so slow I looked everywhere for that noise and one day I grabbed the shock and it had a couple mm play in the bushing!

If you have intermittant running problems or a flat spot/buck/dying/cutting out while accelerating.
Do your self a favor and try some dedicated gas
line dryer, Double or even triple dose it, It's cheaper
then throwing parts at a problem that doesn't throw
codes!!
Are you sure it's the bushings? The ball joints are non-greasable, and they will squeek when they dry up. If you get a needle grease fitting in through the boot, you could lube them up a bit before they fail. Dang things are expensive! I just went through changing all 4 of mine, with only 90K miles. Beast has a good point about just spraying them the bushings with silicone, but also check the sway arm bushings and ends. FYI- be careful with the silicone. It is real bad if you get any on your brakes, can cause slippery spots on the tires, and will hurt like hell if you get any in your eye.
It's been my experience that ball joints make more of a creaking than a squeaking sound when they go bad. My guess would be that it's the swaybar bushings that need to be lubed.
