Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

this may help.

Removal & Installation

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.

2. Raise the vehicle on a hoist or jack stands.

3. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.

4. Remove the front stabilizer bar link nuts from the front suspension lower arms.

5. Remove the front stabilizer bar link bolts and the front stabilizer bar links.

6. Remove the four bolts and two brackets.

7. Remove the front stabilizer bar.

8. Remove the stabilizer bar insulator.

9. Installation is the reverse of removal. Observe the following torques:
NOTE
In the event the self-tapping bolts cannot be installed in the frame, there is a kit available with flag nuts.

End link nuts: 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm)

Bracket bolts: 30 ft. lbs. (40 Nm)

An option to consider is to eliminate the swaybar completely. I removed the swaybar on my 2000 2wd and my truck rides much, much better than stock. And if you decide to remove the swaybar and you don't like the ride or handling characteristics, you can always slap the swaybar right back in.
