Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Question 2001 Ranger ABS light

When i bought the truck the ABS sensor on the front left wasnt plugged in at all and the ABS light was on. I plugged it back in, reset the computer and started up the truck and the light was off. Then i would start driving and it would comke back on. I read some of the other posts about the ABS system but the speedometer/odometer works fine as does the tranny. any ideas what could be the problem. thanks in advanced.

check the rear ABS sensor on top of the rear differential. They seem to be the week link with the ABS system

Same here. My husband has a '99 4x4 4.0L and replaced the front passenger-side sensor which was definitely bad, but he couldn't get the light to go out until he also replaced the one on the rear.
