Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

My '99 Ranger was experincing ABS warning light problems + speedometer jump 2 weeks ago. Through search, I found this forum and read your questions and helpful suggestions. Bought a new rear sensor from O'Reilly's last Sunday for 21.85, & installed above the universal. Once again, all is well.
Ya'll are wonderful! Thanks!

I have the same problem with my 1994 Ranger. Changed the rear end sender, have changed the valve once, bleed the system. But after driving awhile the brake and ABS lights come on and stay on till I shut it off. Can only get code while eng is running. With eng off, everything checks OK. (:-O)

Check the wires at the master cyl for the fluid level, but most likely a bad RABS valve.

I have a '99 Ford Ranger 4.0 2WD and my ABS light would stay on and the speedometer would not work until vehicle speed got to 35 MPH. After reading this forum I replaced the ABS speed sensor and that fixed everything.

FYI - Before you climb under the rear diff the bolt for the my sensor was 10mm.

Got my sensor at AutoZone for $19.00 - AutoZone.com | | Duralast/Brake Sensor - ABS | SENSOR -- ABS WHEEL

Thanks Everyone!
