Blower motor not working on a 96 Ranger Hi,
My father's blower motor on his 96 2.3L manual Ford Ranger stopped working this week. It does not work on any setting. So far we've replaced the blower motor resistor with a new one along with the wiring harness going into it. A voltage check of the harness going into the resistor shows no current is making it there. 12 volts IS, however, making it to the plug going directly into the blower motor itself.
We have checked all the fuses inside the cab as well as those under the hood for continuity and they seem fine.
I know there is a relay for the blower motor next to the washer motor relay behind the headlight but the wiring seems to go from there to the motor and the motor IS getting voltage so I'm not sure thats the problem.
One interesting thing, when he had the truck turned on to check the voltage where the fuse is inside the truck, he was putting the fuse back in and heard a clicking noise. If the fan was turned off he didn’t hear this noise and when the fan was turned on he did.
Any other suggestions here? It figures it goes just as winter is about to hit!
