Ford RangerMore than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.
my check engine light was on i got it checked and it said fuel tank pressure sensor condition. to my knowledge i can only go to the dealership. now my questions are is how much will it cost to get the part and where is it located
P0453 is the code i believe. the definition says fuel tank pressure sensor condition explanation the evaporation emission system sealed condition is monitored by this sensor
probable causes
Fuel tank pressure sensor defective
check connector and wiring
check hoses and fittings
thats what it told me to check
I believe that sensor is located in one of the evap hoses and comes as an asembly, pretty expensive.I would clear the code and drive it,make sure the code is gonna return.
ok my nextr question is how do i clear it do i jsut take my battery cable off and then see. Because i know something is wrong because i should be getting around 20-23 mpg but i only get 15mpg right now
i havent cleared it yet but i do think i have a leak in the line because i put gas in it yesterday night and i saw a leak on the tank coming down and i smelt it and it was gas so i think it might be the line or something not hooked up right. so my next question how hard would it be to change out some of the fuel lines
It sounds like there is some kind of a leak with the connections at the gas tank. It could even be a broken joint where the pipe goes through the fuel pump assembly ring/disc.
