Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Default 1993 2.3L missing after it warmed up.

My Ranger would start smooth but would start missing badly after it warmed up, usually after about 5 -10 minutes. It would not have any power and would barely stay running. Very frustrating! The CEL was on. I tried to pull the codes with the jumper but I wasn't confident that I counted all the CEL blinks. I bought a cheap code reader at O'Reilly's and it spit out 157, 218, and 222 after I got the pass codes of 111 and 10. I marched down to O'Reilly's and bought a Ignition Control Module and a Mass Air Flow sensor. I disconnected the negative terminal to the battery and replaced both units. I hooked the battery back up and cleared the codes in memory before I started the vehicle. There's a cool little button on the code reader that clears the memory for ya. It started right up and runs great! CEL did not come back. I just thought I would post this to help someone out.

here is the link to the code reader I bought. It was at O'Reilly's for $29.99.
