Ford RangerMore than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.
I have a F. Ranger - 2.3 L 16 V. My coolant temperature sensor SEEMS to be broken.( ????) The engine does not overheat - the check engine light is on - the Gage is always on C - ( yes sometimes it moves higher and goes down) Is my Coolant temperature Sensor broken?

I can change the Sensor - but I realized something driving around with as it is:
I get a MUCH BETTER GAS MILEAGE with that car. Is the thermostat open ??? is that it??? Can I always drive that way????
What is the downside driving in Phx ( hell hole) always with open thermostat?

My shop said they would change the water pump as well ( never had any problem) but it looks as the gasket WAS leaking one time - before I got the car! It seems to be Ok now! Shop said to exchange the Water pump cost 320 US. Is that a fair prize?
