Ford Ranger More than two decades ago, the Ford Ranger debuted as an answer to various compact pickup trucks being made available by Japanese automakers. The Ranger was cleanly styled and offered with a choice of a 6-foot or 7-foot bed. Ford boasted that the Ranger had more interior room than the best-selling imports and that 4-by-8-foot construction material could be carried in the bed.

Default Power Steering Noise
First post here!!!
When I turn the steering wheel on my 2000 Ranger I get this "creaking/rubbing" noise. I'm not talking about taking the wheel to the exteme limits. it seems like the belt creaking or something. Power steering pump has fluid and ball joints seem fine. Could it be my pump is going or is the belt slipping? Only does it when I turn the wheel. NO its not the tires rubbing the pavement we have ice here now. Any help will be appreceiated!!!!

How cold is it there? It could be that it's just too cold and the fluid has become too thick to pump properly. Does it still do it after it's warmed up or if you park it in a garage?

is it a squeal like a loose belt? but i had a dieing pump on my 86 250 with a 460 in it and it just skipped when turning and the belts were brand new, no noises

Default power steering noise whinning
I Have exact issue. I had a bad power steering leak and replaced pump . Noise is less but still there if I turn wheel. IU am thinking it's possibly my over sized truck tires causing issue.
